Who own the colors?
And what makes red for instance red? not light red or dark red?
When we measure something, you know that 1 meter will always be 1 mete anywhere, but when choosing a color we face a problem defining the color.
One of the leading company in defining the colors in PANTONE, by giving every color a number
Although the PANTONE numbering system is not an international standard, it’s the most common system used to define the numbers

I instantly remembered the computer coding for colors :D i kept looking for those codes to edit a few things in my blog's template,,,, interesting info though
I think the photo you placed gives one clue to the subject.. sometimes a certain color is so related to figural standards in memory, like the red on a clown_ known objects, known things.. based on this we can stretch the limit of both colors and images by lessening the red in a defined look of a clown, or minimizing the imagery elements (like the hair or the nose) that define a clown and define him rather with the color red..
interesting thought
I will not agree on it. I over polite post. Especially the designation attracted me to be familiar with the sound story.
