i think the main reason why its hard to find good lighting sloutin in kuwait is the way the show room display ther lights
the 3 main places to search for light is
shwaikh, ri7ab,and hallway
u can find good items bs u need to go 3-4 times
i saw the ad for beam which says "am different"
located in al tilal complex in shwaikh, the show room is organized nicely o their is little items on the disply wich mke u focuse more and see the iems more clealy
"the"i hte about lighting showrooms is the heat"
great place if u want indvual items,but not recomended for full house
i think its over priced for a non designer light, and its chinses made
great children section thoug

I went to beam once it was open, and it is as you said one of the pleasant places for light shopping regardless of over pricing..
based on my lighting discovery I find ilyousefi so far is one of the good places, although not all their items in the catalogue are in stock..
but There is a great lighting store in sun city.. (forgot its name it is in one of the corners) this is a bit expensive, but worth it/ for i find Beam although nice looking yet not worth it..
o by the way if you went to shwaikh store (ily wara ilzeena), they will find you the item you want min ta7t 6a2a6ee2 ilarth webee3oona lik wint ga3ed ibmukanik, opposed to 7awalli where you have to go shop by shop..
usually ilbu'9a3a illy fy 7awalli wel ri7aab are the same mako much difference.. even in the prices..
bs i remember a'9wa'a ila7mad chinna? i guess isma chithee (ib akher il3ayer mal sa6rat ma7alat illaitat jbal ma7al ilshawarma illy yam ilyousefy -madry shlon nisait ism ilma63am!-)
w something i remember is that switches of ilfanar ilazraq-7awalli are beautiful.. ;p

one more thing, don't keep lighting shopping or any furniture shopping happen at the same time with their accomplishment time, you have to give yourself a shopping time before like 4 months of the time you should reach this phase/ coz many of things come through order-even light you can get what you exactly want after 3 to 4 months which is unbelievable if you want it right a way.. or in a rush..
